Egypt offers 'good lesson'

MUNICH-Egypt has been demonstrations for almost two weeks and effects some countries. The revolts in Egypt and somewhere is in the region offer in other countries a 'good lesson',said by UN General Ban Kimoon. However,he also said the government itself should reach out to peoples needs, human right instead of not been properly addressed.

This issue has came over to US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The countries in the Middle East and North Africa were battered by a ' perfect storm' of unemployment, poverty and conflict over resources. This generation is rightly demanding that the governments become more effective, more responsive and more open. There must be clear and real progress toward open and transparent for these demonstrators in Tunis,Cairo and cities throughout the region.

The government leaders should urged to take heed and reach out to people to their needs and rights. If government leaders can reach out to the peoples, the world will be peace and safe.

Coffeeshops to raise prices after Festival

PETALING JAYA,Jan 24-Most coffeeshops will increase the price of food and drinks after Chinese New Year. The is because the rising prices of the imported ingredients.
Kuala Lumpur Hawkers and Petty Traders Association vice chairman, Datuk Ang Say Tee said some coffeeshop already increase the prices up to RM0.50.Some hawkers force to increase the prices because to adjust to more costly ingredients.
The price increase was likely to be permanent but unlikely that ingredient costs would decrease. However, there are some hawkers that will not increase the prices because worried of losing their customers and business. Ang said adding 20% price increase was expected from food operators.
The textile prices had also gone up with manufacturers from China and India increasing price. The reason is production was affected by some factors such as bad weather.

"The government already helped out a lot in terms of subsidies. They are willing to accept the lesser profits we will earn," said Datuk Ang Say Tee.

What do I think about?
As a consumer,I will decrease the chances for having outdoors meals, since the price increase so much. But,increase the prices up to RM0.50 is too much.Hopefully the prices will decrease someday.

the real ASEAN and My ASEAN????

Last Wednesday was my 1st Principle Of Journalism class and my lecturer is Mr Sharaad.
Well,he gave us a task  in the middle of the class.
These are the instructions:
1) Draw a map of ASEAN-(yes,the ASEAN)
2) state some famous Sea,Mountain and River.
3) DO NOT peek at your friend's.
4) DO NOT ask for information.
So,me and my classmate are like blur with it.
After 10 minutes,I came out with this and compare with the real one..LOL

 My version of ASEAN.
I got some countries right. The highlighted ones' was what I thought are the country that formed ASEAN.

But after I searched in Google.I missed some countries and "made up" new countries that formed ASEAN.

After that,Mr Sharaad asked us,
"WHY you guys didn't know ASEAN is formed by these countries?" and I thought of that too.
Being a journalist, what we need to have is
-Writing Skills
-Observation
-Commitment (24/7) and
-Seeking Truth.

I learn that being a journalist is easy, but is kinda hard for me.I hope that will learn more until the end of this semester.
